Blueprint is taking part in Freedom Summer, a series of events across Europe organised by the Manifesto Club. The programme, which runs until September, aims to take a stand against the over-regulation of everyday life, and celebrate autonomous spaces for people to collaborate, discuss, or just enjoy life. Events range from debates on booze bans in public places to a sports day to celebrate adult volunteering and informal community sports. For Blueprint’s contribution we brought together a group of volunteers to perform various activities in London’s most prominent public spaces  –from drinking alcohol to playing football – to gauge the response from police or other officials. Photographer Dave Cowlard documented what happened and the results, together with an essay by Dolan Cummings and commentary from architects and sociologists from across Europe, will be published in our August issue, available in shops from the 5 July.
