Last night Blueprint and Cassina launched a competition to design a Cabanon following the spirit of Le Corbusier who sketched his retreat on the Cote D’Azur in 45 minutes. Blueprint has created a postcard based on Le Corbusier’s sketchbooks on which we’re inviting you to submit your idea. Examples of architects’ drawings of their own retreats are on display at RIBA in a special Blueprint booth (pictured) alongside the Cassina/RIBA installation of a 1:1 scale model of the interior of the Cabanon. You can pick up a postcard at the RIBA or at Cassina dealers across London. Alternatively email us at info@blueprintmagazine.co.uk and we’ll send you one.
Postcards should be delivered to RIBA Trust, 66 Portland Place, London W1B 1AD or to Cassina dealers by 28 April. The entries will be judged by a panel of industry professionals and the designer of the best Cabanon will receive a Le Corbusier LC3 Anniversary armchair.
Around 400 guests attended the opening of the exhibition last night, with speeches by RIBA President Sunand Prasad; a representative from Cassina; Michel Richard director of the Le Corbusier Foundation; Piero Lissoni, designer of the installation and Rob Wilson, curator from the RIBA.
Le Corbusier’s Cabanon 1952-2006 – The Interior 1:1, and Le Corbusier – Il Maestro: An Exhibition of Furniture from Cassina are at the RIBA from 5 March to 28 April.

is there a winner?
Hello – yes. We announced the winner in the magazine, and in our newsletter but not on the blog. (sorry!)
You can see the winners’ names in our June newsletter:
